#82 Two Lambs, Two Priests, Twice...

Numbers 20:11 And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice:

As we follow the usual Biblical interpretation method for interpreting this verse we find:

Moses represents the law.

The Rock represents Christ (see 1 Corinthians 10:4).

The word “smote” means to kill.

Once we put it all together it means: The law of God killed Christ twice.

Of course, a few years ago the idea that Christ, the Lamb of God died twice was unheard of. If it were true, we would expect to find two Lambs of God, and two times they were slain, and two priests making the offerings. And that's exactly what we do find:

Two Lambs:

At foundation of world:

Revelation 13:8b "...the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world."

In 1st century, A.D.:

John 1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

Two Priests:

At foundation of the world:

Hebrews 7:1 For this Melchisedec, ...

3 Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually.

In 1st century, A.D.

Hebrews 7:21b "...Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec:

Two times slain/killed:

At foundation of the world:

Revelation 13:8b "...the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world."

In 1st century, A.D.

Matthew 27:50 Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.

Christ, the Lamb of God, was slain twice for sin. Once, at the foundation of the world to make payment for the sins of His elect people. And once, in time, when He went to the cross in 33 AD, He bore no sin but came to demonstrate His atoning work performed at the foundation of the world.

This verse brings the two deaths together:

At foundation of the world:

Hebrews 9:26a "For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world:"

In 1st century, A.D.

Hebrews 9:26b "...but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself."

Yes. Christ was offered twice. Suffered twice. Died twice.

Two Lambs. Two priests. Two offerings of atonement.

Yet, only one payment for sin. And only one demonstration for sin (1 + 1 = 2). Both performed because of our sin.

What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
